The Poolwerx Moggill Marathon ‘Road 2 Rural’ events are summarised below for you to consider what suits your fitness level and exercise goal, or if you and your family are hoping to be part of this fantastic event. Most of the events are suitable to be walked as well as ran.
We have a beautiful area which is encapsulated by native wildlife and stunning views, particularly for a suburb so close to a city. This makes Moggill a perfect location for a unique and new event to add to Queensland’s running calendar.
We do add one word of caution regarding the elevation of these routes and challenge you to train in anticipation of attempting to scale “Mount Moggill” and some of its mini Mounts along the way! The event will be a huge amount of fun and bring excitement and support for many great causes on the day, we look forward to seeing you there!

Poolwerx Moggill Marathon — 42.2km
The Moggill Marathon starts at the top of Kangaroo Gully Road at 6am and completes two circuits of the half marathon course with a cut off time of 11am (5 hours). This marathon is for serious runners seeking a challenge or training for equivalent or longer distances and takes place on undulating roads accompanied with stunning countryside backdrops. Must be aged 14 years and over.

The Heritage Community Branch Karalee 'Road 2 Rural' Half Marathon - 21.1km
The Road 2 Rural course starts at the top of Kangaroo Gully Road and follows a circuit of undulating road accompanied with stunning countryside backdrops designed to challenge even the most seasoned of runners. The Road 2 Rural finale takes you far off the beaten track through the beautiful rural expanse of Priors Pocket Road down to the Brisbane River before a return to the finishing line in Westaway Park for well-deserved recovery time and refreshment.
This race is good for athletes seeking a challenging half marathon experience or practice for further distances such as the Brisbane Marathon or Gold Coast Marathon. Must be aged 14 years and over.

The Athlete's Foot and New Balance 'Mt Moggill' 10km
The Mount Moggill 10km run starts from the top of Kangaroo Gully Road, and follows a circuit mixed with hills and flats accompanied with expansive road and acreage views. Runners will have to navigate the lung busting “Mount Moggill” in the final home straight before the finishing line in Westaway Park for a rewarding recovery drink.
This race is a great test for those wanting to step up from 5k and enjoy a new challenge. Must be 11 years or over.

The Local Bulletin Challenge - 5km
The 5km Challenge starts at the top of Kangaroo Gully Road and runners head downhill for an explosive and fun start. The race continues up Church Road, with a short out and back on Hawkesbury Road, before navigating the fearsome “Mount Moggill” on Witty Road and then entering the home straight cheered on by local crowds. Westaway Park is the final destination for a cold drink and chat with friends after.
This is both a tough and fun course either for a seasoned runner or family wanting a great running event to experience. The 5km Run is for all ages and can be walked or ran.

- Prize Money: one prize of $500 for the school or community team (must be a recognised organisation with bank account) with the highest number of entries

Moggill Discount Drug Store 2k Fun Run
The 2km fun run/walk course will start at the top of Kangaroo Gully Road and head through Westaway Park before a tour of Silky Oak and Witty Road taking in the great atmosphere of the event with fun themes and prizes on the day. This race is open for all ages, perfect for family fun and fitness day.
