What an incredible morning we experienced on Sunday 19th May 2024 for the third Poolwerx Moggill Marathon!
We were blown away by the energy, effort and fun from around 900 Runners and Walkers who came out in style and put on a day that we will fondly remember!
The Lions Club of Brisbane West is proud to announce that in total the 2024 Moggill Marathon raised $31,519 for Bravery Box, local schools and community groups. Summarised below are the funds raised, their source and allocation.
The Runners and Walkers who made this event so special, raised a staggering $3,626 for Bravery Box. The Moggill Marathon will contribute $16,374 to this amount, which brings the total contribution to Bravery Box of $20,000. We are proud to support this wonderful charity as the main beneficiary, assisting children, teens and families through their cancer treatment.
This year the Moggill Marathon provided opportunity, via our registration platform, for local schools and community groups to be able to fund raise themselves. Mount Crosby State School put in a remarkable effort and raised $547.88.
The event will donate $10,950 to local schools and community groups who supported the event, because of their contribution of time, selfless effort and participation. The positive energy their teams brought makes an incredible atmosphere and their expert help ensures a fantastic and safe experience for everyone involved.
The local schools and community groups included in this year’s beneficiary list are:
- Moggill SES Group
- Brisbane West Uniting Church
- Pullenvale State School
- Moggill State School
- Mount Crosby State School

The day, we are creating a more inclusive and connected community in Brisbane, and having a load of fun along the way!
From our team at Lions Brisbane West, we’d like to acknowledge and thank all involved, from
the Runners, Walkers, Sponsors, Volunteers, Support Teams, Residents, local Businesses and
Organisations who contributed and supported towards this incredible event. Together you are
making a positive difference in our community.
We are grateful for the feedback we have received on the event, and note improvements we
can make. As the event grows, we aim to make it the best experience possible. One feature we
are certain will stay the same, are the good intentions and purposes which underpin the event.
The Moggill Marathon is for the community to enjoy, for all ages, demographics, those wanting
to compete, achieve personal goals or alternatively enjoy having fun and connect with your
family and friends.
Please lock in the date for Sunday 18th May 2025 for yourselves, family and friends. We are so
grateful for your support, and in the words of one of our Bravery Box fundraisers, “shout out to
all the action takers doing good in this world!”.
