Lions Brisbane West are happy to advise the Poolwerx Moggill Marathon is back on Sunday 21st May!
Last year we were fortunate to contribute proceeds from the event to Bravery Box (supporting children and teens through cancer treatment) and 22 local community groups. This year, with your help, we are hoping to do the same, and fingers crossed for some great weather on the day too.
We want to provide residents with clarity, there are no full road closures for this event and residents will be able to leave and return to their properties at all times.
The event is being managed by a professional traffic management company, Moggill State Emergency Service (SES) with support from Queensland Police Service (QPS), Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and Brisbane City Council (BCC).
The primary focus of the day will be to ensure the safety of everyone involved and to minimise the impact on the local community. Council officers will be in attendance to ensure compliance with local laws.
We ask that you exercise caution for the runners participating in the event, only minor delays of a few minutes could be expected, if any. Please share this message within your network to help ensure everyone is well informed.
Below is a guide detailing times when runners may be present in small numbers on the left-hand side of roads used on the course:

- Kangaroo Gully Road to Sugars Road to Hawkesbury Road, between 6.30am and 8.00am for 10k and 21k runners.

Additionally, if you require any event related assistance on the day, please do not hesitate to call 0459 812 386 for SES support.
This event is for charity, and we appreciate your support and understanding. We also hope that you can join us in making this a successful event that benefits our local community.
